Please see below communication received from Topline Tools head office today: "Dear Loyal Customer, Thank you for your for your continued support during this time of economic uncertainty and instability due to the Coronavirus epidemic we are experiencing in South Africa and worldwide! It is because of this that Topline has taken the decision to have the entire sales force work from home, with a view to keeping both our sales staff and customers safe. Business will continue as usual and all orders will be processed normally, the only difference being that all correspondence will take place by email or phone and not face to face. Please note that Topline’s overseas suppliers are fully back online, however we are expecting a slight delay on our current orders. Topline has good stocks at the moment but will potentially run out of a few of our faster moving lines while waiting for these shipments to arrive. We sincerely apologize for any disruption or inconvenience this may cause, but as you know this is all due to something completely out of our control. Please contact me directly should you have any question and please keep yourselves and your families safe!" We will continue to keep you posted on developments from all our suppliers as we receive them. Regards Grant Rand/Dollar exchange rate and prices As you can all imagine, the rand/dollar exchange will most certainly have an impact on pricing going forward should the rand not recover quickly.
We will however keep you posted via this website as well as emails should we have any correspondence from our principle suppliers. Please see correspondence below from Brightstar Lighting received this week - Some good news at least: "Hi All As you can read in the newspapers and see on television , the Rand / Dollar exchange rate is spiraling out of control. We have just had an increase, but fortunately all the containers that have arrived are paid for so we can maintain ( for the moment ) the price list as supplied. New containers will start arriving from the 20 April , I will re-look at the situation again at the end of April but if the current slide in the rate continues , I will be forced to re-look at the prices and have another price increase. Please keep your customers updated." This is still good news for the retailer, so please order in stock if need be before any price increase comes into effect. We will continue to monitor the situation and hope that the rand starts to recover and price increases will not come into play. Please stay safe and healthy Regards Grant |
